I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado. I come from Connecticut, but have been in the Denver area for almost 5 years.
I believe in the benefit of change, and have always wanted to help others make change. I wasn't sure what that meant at the time I was changing my major from physics to social work, but over time I learned that being a therapist allows me to connect with others and witness incredible strength, change and resilience each and every day.
My goal as a therapist is to promote growth and healing through the therapeutic process and therapeutic relationship. I think our best work in therapy can occur when we feel safe in the relationship to be vulnerable and show parts of ourselves we may not let others see.
I have a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. Prior to grad school I received by Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Providence College (go friars!).
My passions in the field lie in the areas of the treatment of eating disorders and LGBTQ+ adolescents' mental health. Outside of the office, I'm passionate about the outdoors, joyful movement like hiking or skiing, and spending time with animals or friends.
I'm a 3 year old black lab mix that has been by Lauren's side since May 2020. I'm a task trained medical alert service dog, and am currently working towards a therapy dog certification as well. I am regularly at the office, and am allowed to give cuddles and face licks if you want. I am also happy to sleep on my bed and give you space. I am at work most days to earn money for toys and treats. I have a 12/10 good boy rating and can't wait to see you at the office.
